HOLGER RUNE VS MATTEO BERRETTINI PREDICTION

Holger Rune drew the short straw in the first round draw as he was handed the tough assignment of facing Matteo Berrettini who is not seeded following his injuries in recent years. Rune comes from Montreal where he reached the round of 16 before being eliminated by Alexander Zverev. His form has been a little disrupted of late with some injury issues but he looks fit and he will be eager to do well.

He really will have to hit the ground running in Cincinnati though against Matteo Berrettini who has won the last two tournaments he has played in Austria and Switzerland. Those were only ATP 250 events and they were on clay, but it will give him a major lift.

Berrettini trained with Carlos Alcaraz on arrival in Cincinnati and the Italian will be confident of doing well this week. Hard courts are not his preferred surface and he only ever reached the third round in Cincinnati. Much will depend on whether he can find form right away, just as much as Rune, and for that reason, this is certainly one to be cautious with. Our preference here is in the set betting and we can see this one going all the way with both players enjoying spells of dominance.
