HOLGER RUNE VS ALEXANDER ZVEREV PREDICTION
A quality match awaits the centre court on Friday night in Montreal at the National Bank Open as Holger Rune meets Alexander Zverev.
The 21-year-old Danish talent has impressed so far beating two Spaniards – Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2 3-6 6-2 and Pablo Carreno Busta 6-1 6-3. He looks to be fully fit following the wrist injury that kept him out of the Olympics and now he faces a stiff test in Zverev.
The second seed has had a mixed time of it of late but he hammered Jordan Thompson in his first match 6-1 6-1 to put an early marker down. Zverev has already beaten Rune once this year at the French Open as he edged a five-set thriller and this could well be another hard-fought and close affair.
Rune is looking sharp but Zverev has to be preferred. The win over Thompson will give him that bit of confidence and while Rune can pose him plenty of questions, Zverev should just about have the answers to progress.
