HARRIET DART VS XINYU WANG PREDICTION
Harriet Dart won a thrilling, all-British second-round clash with Katie Boulter on Thursday, coming from a set down to win a dramatic final set tie-break 10-8. In truth though, it was an error-strewn match which saw Dart throw in 12 double faults, and she will no doubt have to tidy up that area of her game if she is to reach the round of 16 at Wimbledon for the first time in her career.
Her opponent, Xinyu Wang, produced one of the shocks of the first week by defeating fifth seed Jessica Pegula, who came into the tournament with plenty of expectation given that she won the grass-court German Open in July a couple of weeks ago.
Both of Wang’s matches have gone the distance so far, and facing a British opponent at Wimbledon will be a new experience for her, so it would be no surprise if the Chinese star's concentration was to drop for at least one of the sets here. Whether Dart can progress remains to be seen, but the smart play could be to bet on this going to a third set.
