Grigor Dimitrov is coming off a strong week in Stockholm where he came within a whisker of another ATP title and that will only serve to whet his appetite for the Erste Bank Open and this first-round clash with Zhizhen Zhang

GRIGOR DIMITROV VS ZHIZHEN ZHANG PREDICTION

It is a quick turnaround for 33-year-old Grigor Dimitrov after he finished as runner-up in Stockholm on Sunday to a triumphant Tommy Paul. The Bulgarian played some excellent tennis over the week in beating Quentin Halys, Dominic Stricker and then Tallon Griekspoor. The final with Paul was a step too far but it was a strong week for Dimitrov.

He will be hoping his body stands up to the short turnaround time as he gets under way in Vienna. He has kept himself active in recent months so there is every chance he will be fine and able to perform to a high level. It is always a concern over his condition however.

He meets Zhizhen Zhang who will be looking to get a win under his belt. After losing out in the final to Marin Cilic of the Hangzhou Open a month ago, Zheng has not won a match in the three tournaments he has entered since then.

It is hard to make a case for that negative streak not continuing here. Unless Dimitrov is struggling, Zhang is going to find him a class above. Even if he is not 100%, the Bulgarian will still likely have too much quality.
