THE PREDICTION

World number 12 Grigor Dimitrov fought back from a set down to in-form Alejandro Tabilo on Sunday, surviving a tight second-set tiebreak before turning the screw, but he should be better for an early scare. The 32-year-old won his first ATP title since late 2017 at the Brisbane International back in January and he made it four finals in the past 10 months when he finished runner-up to Ugo Humbert in Marseille in February.

World number 56 Yannick Hanfmann has endured a really tough hardcourt swing since last August but the German found the form of his career this time last year and he looks ready to rediscover that mojo. Hanfmann, also 32, grabbed an excellent three-set victory over Emil Ruusuvuori on Thursday before an impressive comeback from a set down against Adrian Mannarino on Sunday but this is a significantly tougher test. It is surprising to find the pair have never met on tour, given their age, but the conditions if this first clash suit the Bulgarian far better. Back Dimitrov to win outright for caution’s sake.

TIP: GRIGOR DIMITROV TO WIN
