GRIGOR DIMITROV VS TOMAS MACHAC PREDICTION
Grigor Dimitrov is ending the 2024 season in some strong form and after an excellent week in Stockholm where he finished as runner-up to Tommy Paul, he is looking good once again in Vienna.
He beat China’s Zhizhen Zhang 6-4 7-5 on Wednesday and he is just looking solid in all facets of his game right now. He now faces the surging Tomas Machac and he will be eager to show once again that he can mix it and beat younger talents on the tour.
Tomac Machac beat Fabian Marozsan 7-6 6-1 in his opening match and looked particularly sharp in doing so. He blasted ten aces and won a highly impressive 90% on his first serve. He did not concede a single break point neither and he will need to be that good against Dimitrov if he is to win here.
He will not have it all his own way against Dimitrov and the Bulgarian will be fired up for this. As much as we really like Machac and how he is playing right now, Dimitrov just has that bit between his teeth at the moment. We favour the 33-year-old to progress to the quarters.
