THE PREDICTION

World number six Stefanos Tsitsipas looks to be coming into some serious form just in time to challenge for the ATP Finals in Turin next weekend, first qualifying for the year-end tournament by beating Alexander Zverev on Thursday and then backing it up by ousting Karen Khachanov on Friday. The 25-year-old is yet to drop a set this week after opening with an excellent result over a resurgent Felix Auger-Aliassime and his 2024 suddenly looks more encouraging after enduring such a tough summer. World number 17 Grigor Dimitrov has been steadily rebuilding his form since the summer, enjoying life with extra new coach Jamie Delgado, and recent victories over Carlos Alcaraz in Shanghai and Daniil Medvedev this week in Paris are clear markers of that improvement. The 32-year-old beat in-form Hubert Hurkacz on Friday to see the Pole just miss out on ATP Finals qualification and the Bulgarian will start 2024 within touching distance of the top 10 for the first time since 2019.

Tsitsipas leads their head-to-head 6-1 having won each of their last five encounters but the Greek has likely not faced Dimitrov in this vein of form before. The Bulgarian is well capable of forcing a decider here, as he has done so in each of their last two encounters, but whilst Tsitsipas’ current level remains vulnerable he has looked almost razor-sharp this week in Paris. Consider a one-off on the match to see three sets but otherwise back Tsitsipas to reach the final.

BETTING TIP: Stefanos Tsitsipas to win.
