THE PREDICTION

World number 13 Grigor Dimitrov is yet to drop a set this week after two solid wins over Lorenzo Sonego and Marton Fucsovics. The 32-year-old beat Holger Rune to the Brisbane International title last month, his first trophy since winning the ATP Finals in 2017, but he will be pleased not to have to face the Dane again after Alexander Shevchenko stunned the top seed on Thursday. 23-year-old Shevchenko overcame an out-of-sorts Rune in three sets to back-up an excellent comeback over Zhizhen Zhang on Tuesday, continuing some excellent indoors form that saw him finish runner-up to Ugo Humbert at the Metz Open to finish off an excellent breakthrough season last year. The Kazakh will set a new career-high ATP world ranking for his efforts but this first meeting with in-form Dimitrov looks one step too far at this moment in time. The Bulgarian has been in resurgent form since last summer to look an outside title contender this week, although defending champion Jannik Sinner remains the clear favourite. Back Dimitrov to win outright, with straight sets only a little likelier than three.

TIP: GRIGOR DIMITROV TO WIN
