GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD VS YOSHIHITO NISHIOKA PREDICTION

Yoshihito Nishioka grabbed his first Wimbledon win in three years to advance through to the second round and did so having only hit three aces. That’s an incredible stat when considering that his opponent Perricard, smashed 52 aces in his game, a five-set-thriller against Korda. This is a battle between raw power and control. Perricard has the service game to overwhelm Nishioka, but the 28-year-old should make far less unforced errors, making this an exciting match up.

This is a contest that really could go either way and it would be no surprise if we saw multiple tie-breakers. Perricard will try to avoid long rallies and get the points won early, whilst Nishioka will try to suck him into a battle of attrition. In the end, back the game not to be decided in straight sets with the outcome itself very much in the balance.
