GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD VS EMIL RUUSUVUORI PREDICTION
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has had some ride already at Wimbledon this week as he has been involved in two fascinating matches. The Frenchman beat 20th seed Sebastian Korda in the first round with the first four sets all going to tiebreak before Perricard won the last set 6-3. During that match, 203cm tall Perricard fired down a staggering 52 aces. Fast forward to Thursday and the second round and he blew Yoshihito Nishioka in straight sets and racked up another 27 aces. His Japanese opponent had no answer for his serve winning just 12 receiving points in the entire match and Perricard clearly possesses some weaponry in his arsenal.
He meets Finnish 25-year-old Emil Ruusuvuori who will be buoyed by his impressive win over Tsitsipas in the second round and his ability to deal big serve. That will stand him well coming into this match against Perricard and that will likely hold the key to this match.
Ruusuvuori has the better all-round game but overcoming Perricard’s serve will be no easy feat and at least may take some time to adapt to. That should lead to a four or five set match so over 3.5 sets is our preferred play in this one.
