FLAVIO COBOLLI VS BEN SHELTON PREDICTION
22-year-old Flavio Cobolli is enjoying an excellent week and that comes as no surprise given the year he has had so far. He currently sits in a career-high 48th in the world rankings and the Italian will be eager to keep making positive strides. He has grafted well to get to this point beating the in-form Alex Michelsen en route to the semis, but this will be a tough challenge.
He faces 21-year-old Ben Shelton who will certainly have the home town support on his side. Shelton has had to overcome Radu Albot, Brandan Nakashima and then Denis Shapavalov to reach the last four and he will be confident of challenge for the title this week. Shelton has met Cobolli once before losing on clay in Geneva a couple of months ago, but this surface will suit Shelton more.
We give the edge to Shelton here based on performances this week and on this surface. This one could easily go three sets but we just expect Shelton to progress to the final.
