FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME VS YOSHIHITO NISHIOKA PREDICTION
Felix Auger-Aliassime has been very hit and miss in recent months but his latest performances in the Davis Cup were excellent as he won all three matches. That came after a first-round loss in the US Open, so the inconsistency levels are high with the Canadian right now.
He can take good heart from his head-to-head against opponent Yoshihito Nishioka. He leads the way 4-2 and he has won the last four meetings in a row including two this year. Both of those matches did however come on clay, where he is much more natural than the Japanese player.
Yoshihito Nishioka returns to his homeland and will be desperate to put in a good showing this week. He will no doubt be cheered by a fervent home support, Nishioka can take confidence from his recent form.
Despite being forced to retire in the US Open due to cramp in the fifth set against Miomir Kecmanovic, he bounced back in style winning both of his David Cup matches in Tokyo and he then played in Hangzhou last week losing in the round of 16 to Marin Cilic.
He will benefit from having been in Tokyo and then China for the last couple of weeks and that along with the home support should work in his favour. We favour Nishioka to get the win here.
