FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME VS SEBASTIAN BAEZ PREDICTION
Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime absolutely loves this Swiss indoors tournament in Basel and he has won the event in each of the last two years. He beat Holger Rune in 2022 and then followed that up with a victory over Hubert Hurkacz last year.
He may not quite be at the level of Mr Roger Federer who won it a staggering 10 times, but he is earning a name for himself in this event.
Auger-Aliassime gets under way against Sebastian Baez in the first round; a player he has already beaten this year. That win came in the Davis Cup as he won 6-3 6-3 in what is their only previous meeting so that will only add to his confidence.
Baez comes into this tournament after a couple of first-round eliminations in the last two events he has participated in. Prior to that, he was out of action for just over a month, so he has very little momentum behind him at the moment.
The Canadian simply has to be favoured to get the win here and he should manage it in straight sets also.
