FABIAN MAROZSAN VS GRIGOR DIMITROV PREDICTION
World number 10 Grigor Dimitrov beat Aleksandar Kovacevic in straight sets on Sunday to get a solid foothold in at Roland-Garros but he has struggled to find his sumptuous best tennis since finishing runner-up to Jannik Sinner at the Miami Open. The 33-year-old will be eager to rediscover his best in time for the incoming grass swing, on which he began to find resurgent form last summer, but clay has always been his least effective surface.
World number 43 Fabian Marozsan conceded just seven games in his opener over qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin on Sunday and he will be eager to impress on another big stage. The 24-year-old famously stunned an in-form Carlos Alcaraz at the Italian Open last summer and enjoyed further deep runs at masters events in Shanghai, Indian Wells and Miami to prove himself sound under pressure.
A first meeting with Dimitrov should see sets go both ways over five, with the Bulgarian favourite to edge through, but back Marozsan to earn at least one to leave this tricky result up to chance.
