FABIAN MAROZSAN VS DANIIL MEDVEDEV PREDICTION
24-year-old Hungarian Fabian Marozsan earned his place in the second round thanks to a five-set win over Hamad Medjedovic on Tuesday. He found himself 0-1 and 1-2 in sets down but showed great character to fightback and win in five.
He will have to raise his performance levels significantly here as he meets fifth seed Daniil Medvedev in the Louis Armstrong Stadium in prime time.
After talking up the North American leg of the ATP Tour as his favourite part of the year, Medvedev proceeded to be eliminated in the first matches he played in Canada and in Cincinnati.
He will have been relieved to get a win under his belt in the first round against Dusan Lajovic and it was not a huge surprise to see him drop a set given the fact he has not played much tennis in recent weeks. He will certainly be fresh but he is always prone to lapses and that could see him drop a set here too. He should however be far too strong for Marozsan and expect Medvedev to be in the third round.
