World number 11 Emma Raducanu reached the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open last week, winning her first WTA tour match on clay in the first round before meeting the imperious Iga Swiatek to lose in two competitive sets against the eventual champion. 19-year-old Raducanu has split with coach Torben Beltz after just five months together as she continues to seek the right programme for her development and it remains to be seen how that will affect her form over the next few weeks. She beat Tereza Martincova in straight sets on clay just two weeks ago in the Billie Jean King Cup and the 27-year-old Czech has not won a tour-level match since the first round of Indian Wells back in early March. This match could be something of a coupon buster but backing Raducanu to win at least a set as the likelier winner seems a sensible move.
