ELIOT SPIZZIRRI VS ALEX MICHELSEN PREDICTION
Elliot Spizzirri will be fired up after coming through three rounds of qualifying and he faces 19-year-old Alex Michelsen who is proving himself to be something of a prodigy on the ATP Tour.
Spizzirri is a former US Open Junior champion and he has shown good progression in recent times so this appearance in the first round comes as no major surprise. He has picked up his first main draw victory on the ATP Tour just a few weeks ago and now makes his debut in the singles at the US Open.
This is an incredibly tough test however against Alex Michelsen. The 19-year-old has risen to number 49 in the world and he is improving all the time. He reached the final at the Winston-Salem event in the build up to this event and he will be confident of progressing here.
Michelsen should have too much quality for Spizzirri here. Consistency is missing at times with Michelsen and he does have a tendency to ease up at times so a straight sets win may not be the play but expect him to win with relative ease.
