EKATERINA ALEXANDROVA VS XINYU WANG PREDICTION
Ekaterina Alexandrova has quietly gone about her business in progressing to the quarter-finals and she comes off a dominant 6-1 6-1 win over Hailey Baptiste in the round of 16.
She had to graft her way through the previous two matches which both went to three sets but she looked really good in her match on Thursday.
She now meets China’s Xinyu Wang on the centre court on Friday and she will also be playing against the home support who will be firmly behind Xinyu.
Xinyu pulled off a surprise win over Jessica Pegula on Thursday and her 6-3 7-5 win was fully deserved. She did well to beat Lucia Bronzetti in the previous round and that came after a 6-4 6-0 win over Caroline Dolehide.
The pair have played twice before and they split those matches which both came in 2023. That is unsurprising as there does not appear to be a great deal separating the two players. We are leaning with home favourite Xinyu Wang. She has home support on her side, will be flying with confidence after beating Pegula, and she can kick on with another victory here.
