DIANA SHNAIDER VS JESSICA PEGULA PREDICTION
20-year-old Diana Shnaider is playing superb tennis right now and she comes off an excellent three-set win over compatriot Liudmila Samsonova. After losing the first set, she bounced back in style winning the next two to seal a 4-6 6-1 6-4 win.
Her confidence remains sky high and the 14th seed will not be phased by facing number three seed Jessica Pegula for what will be their first ever meeting.
Pegula is playing superb tennis herself right now and has yet to lose a set all week. She beat Peyton Stearns on Saturday in the quarter-finals 6-4 7-5 and looked as comfortable as she did in her previous wins over Pliskova and Krueger. She has yet to face a seed this week so Shnaider equally represents a step up in quality for her to face.
This will be a fascinating test for both players but our preference goes to Pegula. Her experience will be a major benefit here and while it would be no surprise to see her drop a set for the first time, she should have just about too much for the talented Shnaider.
