DAVID GOFFIN VS HOLGER RUNE PREDICTION
David Goffin is flying this week and has already won four matches to get to this stage. The veteran had to come through qualifying but he managed that and then he has produced back-to-back three-set wins over Matteo Arnaldi and Ugo Humbert.
He will have benefitted from a rest day between both the first-round match and round of 16 and the Humbert clash to this one. That could be key in his recovery and ability to produce once again here or the 33-year-old.
He meets Danish 21-year-old Holger Rune who has beaten Nicolas Jarry and then Dominic Stricker. Rune has found it challenging to find any real consistency in recent months while showing flashes of the high quality he has.
This will be a really interesting match-up to see if he can power past Goffin or whether the veteran can use all his savvy to eliminate Rune. We marginally favour Rune to edge this but with no real confidence given his knack for not producing close to his best when favoured. If he is at a good level, he should have too much energy for Goffin, but approach this one with caution.
