DAVID GOFFIN VS ALEXANDER ZVEREV PREDICTION
33-year-old David Goffin is enjoying a fine time in Shanghai as he has come through three rounds so far and now faces Alexander Zverev in the round of 16. He comes off a three-set win over Marcos Giron which was similar to his win over 15th seed Lorenzo Musetti in the previous round. He lost the first set in both matches but fought back in style to win the next two and progress.
Things have fallen nicely for Goffin but that is likely to change here as he faces Zverev. The second seed overcame the tricky Tallon Griekspoor in the third round in three sets but it was not plain sailing. Zverev was also involved in a bust-up with the umpire for which he may well be sanctioned for and he needs to refocus coming into this one.
The pair have met six times before and Zverev has won four of those meetings to Goffin’s two. They met earlier this year at the French Open and Zverev won in straight sets. We fancy him to follow suit, put his scare against Griekspoor behind him and do the same here.
