Former world number 20 Daria Saville, née Gavrilova, rolled back the years on Wednesday with a huge straight-sets victory over the top seed and defending Citi Open champion Jessica Pegula. The 28-year-old has rocketed back up the WTA rankings this season after missing the best part of two years on tour and she can break back inside the top 70 with a further win here. World number 111 Rebecca Marino is no pushover, though, with two three-set battles won this week against Venus Williams and Andrea Petkovic. The Canadian has dropped a set in each of her four matches in Washington this week, if you include qualifiers, and that suggests the cautious option is backing Saville to win at least a set in this first meeting between the two. Given her win over Pegula, though, the Aussie can be tentatively backed to win outright here.
