COCO GAUFF VS ONS JABEUR PREDICTION
Recently-crowned world number two Coco Gauff got up to speed quickly in her first grass-court match of the season, seeing off the dangerous Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets and showing very little rustiness on a surface where she burst onto the scene at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships.
Ons Jabeur, meanwhile, needed three sets to see off Czech hope Linda Noskova in the first round, but this will be her fifth grass-court match of the season having also competed at the Nottingham Open last week.
A finalist at Wimbledon in both 2022 and 2023, Jabeur is very much at home on grass, and despite a losing head-to-head record against Gauff, their only previous meeting on this surface went the way of the Tunisian, which incidentally came on her way to winning this very tournament two years ago. Grass tends to bring out the best in Jabeur, and given the fact she already has a few matches under her belt on this surface, we’re siding with her for victory in this one.
