CHRISTOPHER EUBANKS VS JANNIK SINNER PREDICTION

World number two Jannik Sinner has not played since the end of last month at the Madrid Open, where a concerning hip injury forced him out of the Madrid Open quarter-finals.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a remarkable purple patch from late last season through to the Sunshine Double, winning his maiden Masters title in Toronto before beating Novak Djokovic three times (in singles and doubles) across a two-month period to win the Davis Cup with Italy and then a maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

A sumptuous victory at the Miami Open in March suggested more of the same for the clay swing but he has struggled to find his impeccable best since the transition and it remains to be seen how well he can play on his hip – a no-joke area for tennis players to treat with caution given what has happened to Andy Murray since 2017.

World number 43 Christopher Eubanks found the form of his career on grass last summer and he will be eagerly anticipating a return to the swing after a likely loss in this second encounter with Sinner, who beat the American in straight sets at the US Open two years ago. Injury or not, Sinner should have enough to avoid dropping a set at this early stage but leave this match out of accumulators whilst we assess his fitness.
