CASPER RUUD VS FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME PREDICTION
Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime meet for a seventh time and this one promises to be a highly competitive match just like their previous six. They have each won three apiece, but it is Auger-Aliassime who will likely have better confidence coming into this one as he has won the two meetings played in 2024.
Both of those came on clay courts with a 6-4 7-5 victory in the ATP 1000 event in Madrid, and then the second came at the Olympics in Paris just a couple of weeks ago. Auger-Aliassime won that 6-4 6-7 6-3.
There is little to judge between the type of court and both have won meetings against each other on hard courts and clay.
Ruud comes into this match after having to withdraw from Montreal due to illness. He should be back to full fitness now but not ideal preparations for this match.
Auger-Aliassime was disappointing in defeat in the first round in Montreal against Flavio Cobolli but looked good in the first round here in Cincinnati dominating Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3 6-1. Our marginal preference is with the Canadian due to his momentum and he has the psychological edge of having beaten Ruud twice already in recent months.
