CARLOS ALCARAZ VS JUNCHENG SHANG PREDICTION
Carlos Alcaraz was in superb form in Beijing in the China Open as he beat Jannik Sinner in a thrilling final. His performances grew over the tournament and he looked strong in his dominant win over Daniil Medvedev in the semis. He then edged Sinner out in the final to snap the italian’s long winning streak and that will give him plenty of confidence.
The key for Alcaraz has been the rest he has gained from some early exits including the US Open. His confidence is also returning and he will look to follow up with another strong display in Shanghai.
He meets 19-year-old Juncheng Shang who won the Chengdu Open just under two weeks ago. The home favourite will certainly have the support of the home crowd, but this could not be a tougher assignment for him.
Alcaraz is fit, fresh and firing on all cylinders right now and we fully expect him to progress in straight sets.
