BOTIC VAN DE ZANDSCHULP VS MATTEO BERRETTINI PREDICTION
Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp has come through a couple of rounds of qualifiers to reach the first round of the Japan Open in Tokyo and the 28-year-old will be motivated to spring another upset here.
After stunning Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open in the second round, Van de Zandschulp was then knocked out by Jack Draper but he will come into this clash with some confidence based on his Alcaraz shock.
He meets Italian Matteo Berrettini who has been showing signs of regaining his best form but he keeps meeting some of the best players in the world early enough in some tournaments due to the fact he is lowly ranked.
He lost to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon, Holger Rune in Cincinnati and then Taylor Fritz at the US Open, but he has progressed well in the tournaments around those.
The 28-year-old from Rome will be motivated to do well here and get some more ranking points and we fully expect him to get the win and progress here.
