ARTHUR FILS VS MARIN CILIC PREDICTION

Arthur Fils is in good form as he enters his native Paris Masters and he will be seriously fired up to do well in this one. Fils loves playing with a little edge in his game and with home support firmly behind him, that should only add to his motivation.

He meets Marin Cilic in this first-round clash which is the first time the pair have ever met. The 36-year-old Croatian has not won a match in his last three tournaments since he won the Hangzhou Open back at the end of September. He beat some good opponents that week like Nishioka, Nakashima and Zhang, but his form has dropped off badly since then.

It will be interesting to see what version of Cilic turns up for this one. He will likely relish a test against a local favourite like Fils but whether he can match the 20-year-old seems unlikely. Fils is playing really well right now and we fully expect him to get off to a winning start in Paris.
