Holger Rune has handled the change of surface really well transitioning from grass to clay, a testament to his quality and is well placed to potentially go all the way in Hamburg. He is yet to drop a set across this tournament, although Frenchman Arthur Fils has also impressed on the clay, despite dropping one set across his two matches played so far.
The likelihood is that Rune will prove stronger than Fils on clay, as he showed last year when he beat the same opponent in Rome. While a lot of time has passed since, Rune’s skills on this surface continue to set him up for success and should see him get past Fils here.
