ARTHUR FILS VS ALEX DE MINAUR PREDICTION

It has been some first week for 20-year-old Frenchman Arthur Fils but he will be hoping his Wimbledon dream does not end here as he faces Australian Alex de Minaur. Fils has battled through the first three rounds and after a superb victory over Hubert Hurkacz who had to retire through injury while Fils was leading, he had a tough five-setter against Roman Safiullin on Saturday.

Coming into this match with De Minaur, he can point to a previous victory in their only previous meeting as he won 7-5 6-2 in Barcelona earlier this year. This will be a different assignment on grass, but Fils will be confidence based on that and his run of form in the first week.

De Minaur was fortunate to get a walkover win over Lucas Pouille in the third round so the Australian should be fresh coming into this one. He won his first two matches in straight sets and has been looking in good form, but that means he has not had a huge amount of time on court this first week. It would not be a surprise if he starts slowly and there’s a little early rust but we are expecting the Australian to edge this one and win in four sets.
