The 27-year-old retired injured from the first round of Tennis in the Land this week to throw doubt over her fitness here and world number 87 Anna Kalinskaya certainly has the game to challenge her on a hardcourt despite missing the last three months through injury. 24-year-old Kalinskaya was unfortunate to suffer injury against eventual champion Elena Rybakina in the third round of the Italian Open in May after enjoying her best spell of form – and stunning Rybakina the previous tournament in Madrid – but it remains to be seen what level she can return on. This match should be kept well away from an accumulator considering the chance that it may not het completed but otherwise take Siniakova to earn at least a set with recent matches in her legs.
