ANDREY RUBLEV VS THIAGO SEYBOTH WILD PREDICTION

Andrey Rublev will be fired up to go far in the 2024 US Open and the Russian has an excellent record in this Grand Slam event. The 26-year-old has reached the quarters on four occasions and with some good displays in the warm-up events on hard courts, he will fancy his chances of going well in to the second week this time around.

He gets underway against Thiago Seyboth Wild and this pair have met once before which came earlier this year in the Australian Open. Seyboth Wild did incredibly well to take it to five sets before losing a tiebreak in the fifth.

The Brazilian has had some really good moments this year and some of those came on hard courts in the States back in March. His performances in Indian Wells and Miami were strong and he has shown several times he is capable of upsetting some high quality players.

That said, he has not had any strong performances of late and it would have been preferable to have seen him play more tournaments in this North American leg than just the one last week in Winston-Salem. He could very well push Rublev at moments and even take a set off him, but Rublev should get the win and progress.
