ANDREY RUBLEV VS JIRI LEHECKA PREDICTION

Andrey Rublev almost paid the price for a slow start against Arthur Rinderknech in the last round as he slipped to two sets down only to mount a stunning comeback winning the next three sets while losing just five games in total.

Rublev will take heart from that and he has been in good form on the this North American leg of the ATP Tour so he will be confident ahead of this match.

He comes up against Jiri Lehecka who has had two strange matches so far which he has somehow managed to come through. He has struggled in both matches against Marton Fucsovics and then Mitchell Krueger, starting both of them horrendously. Both matches have been error-laden and in the match with Krueger, it looked like he was giving up when losing the second set 0-6 after losing a tiebreak in the first.

He managed to turn it around however and now faces Rublev. There is no way he can produce such a poor start against Rublev and expect to get away with it. Once he eventually warms up however, he is playing some good stuff.

The pair have met four times and split those victories two apiece. The last came at Indian Wells earlier this year when Lehecka won 6-4 6-4. This is not an easy match to read given how inconsistent both players are within their matches. The marginal preference goes to Rublev but with little confidence. Our preference is on over 3.5 sets with both players showing enough drops in intensity at some stage to lose a set.

ANDREY RUBLEV VS JIRI LEHECKA TIP: OVER 3.5 SETS
