ANDREY RUBLEV VS FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO PREDICTION
Andrey Rublev is the top seed at the Croatia Open this week but he is not playing that well right now. He made hard work of his quarter-final clash with Fabian Maroszan having to come from a set down although he will take some confidence from this wins this week. He has been knocked out in the first round in each of his last three tournaments – Swedish Open last week, Wimbledon before that, and then Halle – so any victories would represent an upturn in form. However, his displays this week do not exactly inspire confidence.
He meets Francisco Cerundolo in what should be a competitive match-up. They have met twice before and the duo have won a match apiece so Cerundolo will know he can beat Rublev. The Argentine came through a three-setter of his own against Lorenzo Sonego on Thursday and he will now aim to upset Rublev who win this tournament way back in 2017.
As the odds suggest however, this really is a tough match to call. The value pick is clearly Cerundolo as the underdog as it is hard to really like Rublev as a favourite and top seed. Consider trading this one in-play and consider a small play on Cerundolo.
