ALEXANDER ZVEREV VS JOEL SCHWAERZLER PREDICTION
Alexander Zverev had a week off last week after a disappointing showing in Shanghai where he lost to veteran Daniel Goffin in the round of 16. The rest should have done him some good but he will be motivated to do well taking into account the field in Vienna this week.
18-year-old Austrian Joel Schwarzler has been handed a wildcard for this event and the youngster gets the opportunity to face Zverev and play on centre court. He was a junior masters champion in 2023, he has won his first Challenger Tour title back in May and he won the junior boys’ doubles title at the French Open this year. The youngster has good pedigree and he will be fired up for this opportunity.
Of course, the size of the challenge cannot be underestimated and Zverev is unlikely to show him any mercy. The German is in desperate need of a good week here and he will be fully focused. Expect a straight-sets win for the top seed.
