THE PREDICTION

World number 19 Grigor Dimitrov totally outplayed old foe Andy Murray on Thursday to build on a first ever comeback from two sets down in the first round but the Bulgarian faces an uphill struggle here. Former world number two Alexander Zverev has beaten Dimitrov in assured straight sets twice this season already, in the round of 16 at Roland-Garros and the first round in Cincinnati last month, to take a 5-1 lead in their head-to-head record – with a five-match winning streak looking pretty damning. The 26-year-old finished runner-up to Dominic Thiem here three years ago and his recent exit to Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of Cincinnati suggests it will take a player at the very top of the tree to oust him in these conditions. Dimitrov is playing well enough to beat most at this stage of the tournament but he has a match-up problem here that, unfortunately, he seems all too conscious of. Back Zverev to win outright.
