ALEX MICHELSEN VS HUBERT HURKACZ PREDICTION

American 20-year-old Alex Michelsen comes into the Paris Masters for the very first time and he will be keen to make his mark in the French capital.

He has had a quiet enough spell in recent weeks but he has been pretty unlucky with his draws when he has progressed through a round as he has met the likes of Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner (twice) in the last couple of months.

He will be eager to end the year strong but he faces a tough match in the first round against Hubert Hurkacz.

So much depends on the physical condition of Hurkacz whose injury struggles have continued from the summer. He took a month off after the US Open and has had another month off after the Japan Open so it will be interesting to see what condition he comes to Paris in.

We are tempted with a play on Michelsen here. He is mobile and a very talented player, and with Hurkacz likely to be a little rusty, this has upset written all over it. Approach this one with caution, but Michelsen offers some good value here and is more than capable.
