ALEKSANDAR KOVACEVIC VS FRANCES TIAFOE PREDICTION

Aleksandar Kovacevic makes the US Open main draw for the first time after falling in the qualifiers the last three years. The 25-year-old is progressing nicely on the ATP Tour this year and has risen to world number 75. He will now look to get his first win under his belt in New York although he has been handed an extremely tough draw.

He meets Frances Tiafoe who is coming off an excellent week in Cincinnati where he lost the final to Jannik Sinner. Of course, there is no shame in losing to the world number one and Tiafoe can take plenty of positives from his excellent performances over the week.

The 26-year-old has an excellent record in this Grand Slam event. He has reached the semi-final in 2022 and the quarters in 2023 so he will be more confident than ever following that and his performances last week.

The pair have met once before and that came just a few weeks ago in Washington. Tiafoe won that match in three sets. Even more so over the best of five, Tiafoe should simply have far too much quality for Kovacevic here.
