ALEJANDRO TABILO VS HOLGER RUNE PREDICTION
Alejandro Tabilo continues his career-best year in 2024 and the Chilean number one will have high hopes of doing well in Tokyo this week. He played well in the Laver Cup in Berlin last week winning a doubles match but losing his singles clash with Grigor Dimitrov. He will have enjoyed being on the big stage with some of the best players in the world and he is now facing one in the first round.
Holger Rune comes into this ATP 500 event following a first-round exit in Hangzhou last week. That disappointment came against Yasutaka Uchiyama and followed another first round exit in the US Open where he lost to Brandon Nakashima. His form has not been great in recent times as 2024 looks to be petering out a little for him now.
Rune will simply have to improve here as he faces a tough test in Tabilo. He may be the seeded player and ranked higher in the world, but it is Tabilo who is arguably playing the better tennis. The value lies in Tabilo and he is our preferred play here.
