The first semi-final sees Alejandro Tabilo face Gael Monfils and this will be a fascinating encounter. Tabilo has enjoyed an excellent week so far on a surface which is not his strength. The Chilean has done well albeit against lowly ranked opponents and Monfils certainly represents a major step up in quality for him.
The popular Frenchman continues to be a fans’ favourite and he did well to overcome a valiant Roberto Bautista Agut on Thursday in a hard-fought quarter-final clash which went to three sets. Assuming fatigue doesn’t creep in, Monfils should have too much all-round quality for Tabilo here and he is favoured to reach the final.
