ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA VS FRANCES TIAFOE PREDICTION

Alejandro Davidovich has had a relatively mixed 2024 but he produced some unexpectedly good performances last week including the shock win over Daniil Medvedev. He was playing well in the round of 16 matches against Matteo Arnaldi before being forced to retire so that is a concern with the quick turnaround to this tournament. The reason for his withdrawal was reportedly illness so he should be recovered but it is one to watch.

He faces Frances Tiafoe who will have home support on his side and he will be eager to do well at a venue he has typically not done well at. Tiafoe has saved his best performances for the US Open, Indian Wells and Miami but he has the ability to do well given his love for hard courts.

He ran into an in-form Alejandro Tabilo last week in Montreal and came unstuck but he did well in Washington the previous week reaching the semis. Tiafoe does lack consistency but with motivation on his side, he should have just enough to win but this is one to be cautious with.
