THE PREDICTION

World number 11 takes on number 12 here as Felix Auger-Aliassime and Cam Norrie represent Canada and Great Britain, respectively. 21-year-old Auger-Aliassime played out a tight, entertaining three-set battle with Taylor Fritz on Sunday that eventually saw the in-form American steal away from a set down and that consigned Canada to defeat in their opening ATP Cup tie. 26-year-old Norrie faced an even tougher prospect in world number three Alexander Zverev and after doing well to take the German to a tiebreak he fell away in the second set to lose in two. Norrie’s current level remain a mystery at this moment in time having faced too tough a challenge in world-beating Zverev but he would have to beat Auger-Aliassime for a first time if here after losing both previous encounters to the youngster. A three-set match going the Canadian’s way at the recent Vienna Open looks a good benchmark for this encounter, so take Auger-Aliassime to win at least a set as the likelier of two capable winners.
