THE PREDICTION

World number 34 Cameron Norrie played exceptionally in a high-quality first round match with Lucas Pouille to come through in four sets. The British number two is seeded 29th at Wimbledon and remains the player with the third-most wins on tour behind Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev in what has been an incredible best season on tour. The 25-year-old now faces a considerably less difficult challenge in Aussie wildcard Alex Bolt. The world number 159 earned one of his best ever wins on Tuesday by taking out world number 44 Filip Krajinovic in straight sets and he will be no push over.

Norrie has spent most of the season winning as the underdog but such is the strength of his mentality right now he clearly comes to court exactly the same for any foe. For that reason, the world number 34 should be in control of this match throughout. Alex Bolt has the potential to impose himself on this match but realistically Norrie has earned the right to be the solid favourite in this first meeting. Take the Brit to win in straight sets.
