This is an exciting first meeting between world number 31 Nikoloz Basilashvili and 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz that should draw a large crowd on Thursday. 29-year-old Basilashvili has had a strange season so far, winning two ATP titles to make for a total of five but also struggling for consistency throughout. The Georgian should start this match the favourite after a strong showing in the first round against an out-of-sorts Dusan Lajovic but Alcaraz’ four-set victory over Bernabe Zapata Miralles was just as impressive on his French Open debut. Alcaraz has a huge future ahead of him and the young Spaniard will likely garner most of the support here so take him to win at least a set in a match that could quite easily see its third hour.
