THE PREDICTION

This promises to be an electrifying final between two young, raw talents in Ales de Minaur and Alexander Bublik. Both players went a set up in their semi-final matches against seasoned professionals David Goffin and Jeremy Chardy, respectively, before coming back from 1-1 to win the deciders. 21-year-old De Minaur has been especially impressive this week as the most in-form player arriving at the Antalya Open but Bublik has possibly had the tougher draw. The 23-year-old Kazakh took out the first seed Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-finals and overcame a common problem in his mentality by managing to refocus and win the decider against Chardy on Tuesday. Between two players used to winning the first set in their matches, it looks a flip of a coin here. However, this battle between two skilful but sometimes petulant players could manifest in a victory for whomever loses the first set. The fightback to one set-all can often favour the equalising player and that seems a more common trope in matches between younger players. Three sets looks a reasonable outcome here and Alex de Minaur arrived as, and remains, the best-looking player at the Antalya Open so he should be the eventual champion here. Perhaps a separate punt for the first set winner to lose the match could be an interesting option too.
