- Stephen Maguire suffered defeat in the final of the UK Championship which summed up what has been a poor campaign for the Scot.
- Maguire will want to build towards the Worlds and will hope to add a 17th victory of his career over Robertson in what is their 27th clash.
- This has not been a particularly successful tournament for Maguire in the past with him never reaching the final in 13 attempts and has lost in the first round in his previous two appearances.
THE PREDICTION
Neil Robertson and Stephen Maguire have not reached the heights they know they are capable of this campaign and both will view this contest as a game they can win. Robertson should come out on top with his break-building the superior of the two and that should see him score the highest of the game.
