THE PREDICTION
Munster lost a tight and tetchy interpro clash 10-8 at Connacht on New Year’s Day to make it back-to-back defeats in the United Rugby Championship. However, their previous came in late October at Ospreys in what has been a desperately covid affected tournament and they excelled more recently in Europe with Champions Cup victories at Wasps and at home to Castres. This game in-hand over travelling Ulster looks a huge opportunity to usurp them and move closer to the top end of the URC but the visitors have been exceptional over the last few months - especially on the road. Ulster shocked Leinster 10-20 in late November and a 23-29 victory at French giants Clermont is arguably more impressive given the wider difficulties over the last month. Munster are unbeaten here in their last seven meetings with Ulster but a +2 concession in favour of the hosts seems a wise move in what could be a low-scoring battle.
