THE PREDICTION

In-form Sale Sharks made it five wins on the spin across all competitions and four in the Premiership with a 21-22 smash and grab at Northampton Saints last Saturday. They have fared much better than most Premiership sides in terms of missing international stars and they should enjoy more of the same at home to London Irish this weekend despite the visitors’ excellent form. The Exiles shocked Saracens again last Saturday, beating the former champions 32-30 at home to make it two wins and a draw out of four meetings this season across all competitions. They will be buzzing all the way to Greater Manchester on Friday night but Sale are unbeaten in seven here across all competitions and backing them to edge through outright seems a reasonably cautious pick.
