THE PREDICTION

Sale Sharks were highly competitive for the majority of last season and ended up finishing in third place after 22 games. A play-off semi-final defeat to Exeter Chiefs was unfortunately a little par for the course but they will be top four contenders once again this season despite the return of Saracens from their Championship exile. A home fixture on the opening weekend is always a bonus and it remains to be seen what kind of season travelling Bath are going to enjoy or endure after some intermittent displays last campaign. The side playing away from home won this fixture on both editions last season but a full house at the AJ Bell should help change that. Sale should be able to cover -7 in victory here.
