THE PREDICTION

Northampton Saints were well ahead in a thrilling match at Harlequins last Monday, with a 26-24 deficit by half-time to the reigning champions the truer story of what ended up a 41-27 result for the hosts. They will be up for another huge challenge at home to travelling Saracens but the gap in quality should eventually tell again here against visitors who scored 61 points against struggling Worcester on Boxing Day. Sarries cannot drop any more points with seven matches won from 10 played if they want to usurp Leicester Tigers into the first place many expected the returning giants to be occupying by now. This could be very tight indeed but Saints’ gung-ho approach could prove high-risk high-reward as much as it could see Saracens cover -6. The sensible move here is an outright away win.
